My People play booklet cover.
"The play is charming and warm and wonderful."

Nascent Constellation short stories chapbook cover.
"Funny and personal."
Sue Miller
My People is a very short play, but it is funny, thoughtful, and poignant. My People takes place at the service window of a small restaurant. The dialogue is between a reformed gang member, now working as a cook in a restaurant, and an artist working as a server in that restaurant. There is both humor and poignancy in the dialogue as the two main characters explain to each other what "my people" means to them. The droll final lines bring the characters, and the audience, together for a lighthearted ending.
My People is published with a medium weight matte photo card stock cover. A numbered first edition was printed before it was known that the play would be chosen for production at DramaRama in April, 2008. Eight copies were printed. Three have been distributed. The five remaining have been paired with five new limited edition copies of Nascent Constellation, the chapbook of a series of short stories.
Nascent Constellation is a chapbook of short stories that form a trilogy. They are ultimately inspirational stories, stories of "kindness and grace." Included in this edition is a fourth, bonus section, Highway 13, which is an exceprt from a chapter of a novel in progress. Nascent Constellation is published with a heavy weight glossy photo card stock cover.
The five copies of My People and Nascent Constellation limited editions are currently available as a set. Another printing of My People will not be available until after the performance.
